doesn't mean you have to be.
I'm hosting a new POPrs Giveaway,
so everyone has to enter, oui? *
I never win anything! My sister-in-law once won a beautiful 1 carat diamond. And a week later, she won a color TV. Nice!
I was never on a team of any kind, so I've never won a soccer, basketball , football, volleyball, whiffleball or any other kind of trophy. No musical talent, either.
You've never seen me with Ed McMahon, because I've never won the Publishers Clearinghouse Sweepstakes. No answering the door in my robe to accept the roses and big check. Never.
You've heard of the Miracle Mile in Fond du Lac, WI? Claim to have to most winning Powerball tickets ever sold in that 1 mile stretch of Main Street. I've bought tickets there, too. Never won.
The latest contest that I haven't won? The Ugly Patio Contest. We just started to redo our ugly patio when I heard about the contest. My friend Denise urged me to enter.

"You'd be a shoe-in," she proclaimed. The thought of a free patio, landscaping, and a shiny new grill sounded good.
So I took these photos and sent them off. Every morning for a week, I was up early, watching for my pictures to be among the five finalists. By Friday morning, I was convinced I'd be the last finalist. But NO. It was some guy with a back step and grass. He didn't even HAVE a patio, much less one as UGLY as mine!
Judge for yourself. And I was so convinced that we'd win, that I stopped the bidding process. Now, schedules are full and we have to wait til next year. So I've put up my tomato swingsets where the bushes were pulled out. But the patio is still UGLY!
Good thing the DECK is beautiful! That's where I'll be. Just sitting in an Adirondack chair, trying to figure out what to do about the mess on the other side of the house.
*My 24 words are brought to you by Six-Word Saturday, hosted by Cate at Show My Face. And my New POPrs Giveaway starts tomorrow, so please stop by!
