Actually, yes, she did.
The Wild One had an...errrrrrr...episode in the bathroom the other day. She really had to go. She rushed down the hall to the dorm's communal john. She acquired an empty stall, scooted on in there, and ripped down her jeans.
Ker-plop!
Yup. Cellie, lodged in her back pocket, went right in the drink. Fortunately, before she'd done her business, so TWO had the good sense to fish the phone out. Then she let fly.
So, whaddayado with a drenched cell phone? Google registers more than 3.2 million hits, many of them giving advice on that very topic. We checked the first 20 or so, and it was a no-go. I prefer blingaling's warning about potential disaster. The photo above comes from his post, which says, in part:
"People have gotten their arms stuck trying to fetch their cell phones from a flushing toilet. Is it really worth that much to you?"
Nope. Don't think so. Rather just make my daughter pay the damages.

I've almost done that so many times!!
oh my .. that would be one of my kids' worst nightmares!! fortunately, my cell phone mostly lives on its charger on the kitchen counter... far far away from any flushing... but close enough to the garbage disposal now that i think of it!!!!
I'm not laughing. I'm commiserating with a smile.
And now I am off to look at this recipe that is oddly enough making me look forward to dinner.
*woot*! Since she had to pay for the replacement phone, guess she'll be more careful next time, huh?
There must be something in the air. This is the second story I've read in the past couple of days where someone hasd ropped their cell phone in the potty!
I'm laughing although it really isn't funny, well maybe a little :)
it didnt happen the other day, it happened like a month ago mom
My kiddo did this at a restaurant! UGH
That's one mistake that she will not do again!!
This happened to one of my daughter's friends recently. I love the idea of making her pay for the damages. Kids seem to take much better care of their stuff when they pay for it themselves.
My son (College Boy) dropped his in a swimming pool once. When the second one got wet, I scolded him for not remembering about the first one. He assured me that this was a different situation. I told him to take it apart and dry it out. "No. It reeks like beer" was the reply. "How do you drop a phone in a bottle of beer?" was my naieve reply. "Mom, think about it". And that's how I learned what beer pong was! I can totally see dropping a phone (or anything else) in a cup of beer when doing THAT!
Haha - I hope she doesn't read this, or she might be peeved at you for telling her "business."
I fell into a pool once with my phone in my pocket (yes, fully clothed, mid-day, no drinks. I'm that graceful) and we took the battery out immediately, let it dry for a couple of days and it ended up working again. Too bad, I really wanted a new one. ;)
Not the ideal place for her cell phone. :)
I keep my phone in the same location. Bad habit. Although I've had some close calls, luckily, I have not had this accident. Am I jinxing myself? Ah, probably...
I cannot tell you how many times my daughter has done this. Well, maybe I can....10 times?? Yes, at least.
Yikes... although this makes me feel better about keeping my phone in my FRONT pocket ;) Poor girl.
