Gran Torino's Quite a Ride

I think I might have mentioned that Moker and I are Empty Nesters. We've done a few fun things since September. Gone on "field trips." Stayed in and dined on Jambalaya. Last night we took in a movie, and grabbed a pizza afterward.

When we first started dating, Moker was a big Dirty Harry fan. John Wayne, too. And, of course, Jack Nicholson, when he was younger and even crazier than he is now.

For Date Night, Moker chose Gran Torino, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. Eastwood says this might be his last flick. Talk about powerful. Sort of Dirty Harry gets PC, only not.

Have you seen any good movies recently? What do you recommend?

ive been wondering if i wanted to see that...im not a huge eastwood fan though i think he does some things quite well. i like some of his movies and cant stand others. gran torino looked like it might be more like million dollar baby than dirty harry.

My hubby wants to see this, I think he feels like anything with Clint Eastwood is going to be pretty good!

We NEVER go to the movies...I don't really know why! Oh yeah, maybe because I still have 3 kids at home (hahahahaha).

My husband and I never get to see movies anymore. The only time we have date night is for Iron Cupcake:-)

We recently saw Burn After Reading. Very quirky movie. Loved it.

We took our nephew to see a movie with Jim Carey. It was o.k. There are so many good ones out...it would be hard to pick. Good Luck, sorry I can not be of help.

Remember I just got out of being in the woods for 4 months and now I am in a place where they only speak French.... I might be going crazy! :D

It actually looks quite good. His voice irritates me a little. We'll see. We usually just rent movies. My girlfriend saw Marley & Me and said even her husband liked it.

I haven't been to the movies for a while. Last night we rented "Definitely Maybe". It was definitely ok. Not the best, not the worst.

Wanna know how uncultured I am? I thought you were talking about the violent car video game, not a movie.

BUT I did see a movie recently with a friend of mine. Ghost House was not bad. Not great... but not bad. Then again, I may have forgotten what good movies look like, it's been so long!

We almost never go to the movies. I hate paying for it knowing it will come out on PPV cheaper and then to regular tv. We did just get Wall-E on payperview and thought it was really cute and funny.
