Brett's a Winner, and You. Can. Be. Too!

Looks like the Green Bay Packers, the best team in football, BTW, have come to their senses and welcomed NFL MVP Brett Favre back to the fold. To say that Aunt Julie and Uncle Lynn are ecstatic would be putting it mildly. These die-hard Packer Fans have been on the waiting list for season tickets since they got married. In all those years, they've moved up 22,000 spots, give or take a seat or two. And they still have about 2,500 places to go!

As The Pop'r Family grew, Auntie J. and Uncle Lynn added their boys to the season ticket waiting list. But those guys have a pretty long way to go. The youngest, Soccer Boy, is now 30,866th on the waiting list. At this rate, Soccer Boy will be pretty darn old and Brett will be retired for real before the lad gets a seat at Lambeau Field!

But let's not let the real news get lost in all of this NFL chatter! Uncle Lynn has authorized me to run another Great Pop'rs Giveaway. And it couldn't be easier to win!

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. You probably already know that my family will be joining The Pop'r Family for a little VAY-cay at the beach later this week. Well, we like to read. A lot. Please leave me a comment recommending a good beach read. That's all ya gotta do, and You. Too. Can. Be. A. Winner!

The Great Pop'rs Giveaway runs from today through Monday, August 11, at 8 p.m. EST. We will pick Two Grand Prize Winners by random drawing at that time. What do you win? Why, and entire box of Pop'rs--all eight flavors!--that delightful seasoning that's not only fun, but good for you, too!

Of course, we're adding a few extra incentives for you, too! For each comment you leave on one of my posts this week, I'll give you an extra entry in the contest. How sweet is that?

Now, before I get away today, I'd like to Share the Comment Love with five of my Bloggy Friends out there. These ladies are doing some really great stuff on their blogs, and you should take a look!

Well, that's all, folks! Hope to hear from you soon, and don't forget to enter The Great Pop'rs Giveaway!

That is crazy how long the waiting list is. I had no idea at all! I prefer to watch games on the comfy couch nice and warm but I have never been to a game so I don't know how good it is. Although, Bears fan here, oh god, do you hate me?

Hey Veggie Mom....thanks for stopping by yesterday!

A beach book! Surely....check out ANYTHING by Jennifer Crusie. She is HILARIOUS. You will just sit there and laugh and people will think you are crazy.

Janet Evanovich is good too. I just finished "Full House" and it made me laugh as well.

Both of these woman right funny stories about women that are quick reads...great for a vacation.

I don't read a lot, but one book that I read not too long ago that I think would be a fun beach read is "The Bright Side of Disaster"

Hmmm... Danielle Steels Impossible was good. That or any Lori Wick books. I really enjoy those. Right now I'm reading some Reader's Digest condensed books that my MIL gave me. Have fun on the beach and make sure you wear your sunscreen.

Thanks for stopping by...now I can find out about these Pop'rs that Adiel is talking about.

You need a good book for that little trip?? May I recommend anything by Janet Evonavich...she is too, too funny. We should all be Stephanie Plum! Or try Harlen Coben. Great murder-mystery kind of guy. And of course the Twilight series if you haven't read that!

By the way, I have been a HUGE Packers fan since I was a wee lass...Bart Star (SIGH!!) You beat me to the Brett Farve post. Don't ya just love him?

I have to second the above recommendation for Jennifer Crusie. I love her "Faking it" and "Fast Women" books, but all of them are great!

Howdy! Thanks for dropping by my blog today!

My recommendation for a great beach read is anything by Jennifer Weiner or Marian Keyes. They're "chick lit" and they're great - fun, not complicated reads, perfect for the beach! (If you want specific recommendations, I'd go with Good in Bed (which isn't as sleazy as it sounds I swear!!) by JW and either Watermelon or Rachel's Holiday by MK.)

Enjoy the beach!! We were invited to go with my sisters, BILs and nieces and nephews but their beach trip conflicts with our previous plans. At least those plans are DISNEY WORLD so it isn't like we'll just be sitting around at home missing the shore. :D

Cheers!

Brett's the best! Apparently, the Pack are going to have a press conference tonite to let us know what's going on. I'm kinda tired of the back-and-forth--I think they should just give the Big Guy's role to Brett! One more year is all I ask!! Hey, thanks for the shout-out this morning! Beach reads? I just finished Water for Elephants, which is one of the best novels I've EVER read!!!

Well, you totally know what I'm gonna say here...

READ TWILIGHT!!! Quit stalling. Jump on our bandwagon and start reading. The first 3 were my "beach reads" last year...and thenI had to wait 11 months for Breaking Dawn to come out. It was such a long wait, but totally worth it.

As a flight attendant I get a lot of reading done on empty flights, on my commute from Utah to Maryland, in my hotel room and by the pool in the summertime! I have a few faves for good reads! I'm a big Jodi Picoult fan! I enjoyed My Sister's Keeper and Nineteen Minutes the most! Also I have read the classic, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn every year and just love it! I also love children's literature and read award winning book, The Penderwicks and the sequel The Penderwicks on Gardam Street. Trust me, these books are fantastic!

Oh! We actually didn't get to Famous Rays and it was a huge mistake! Our first day in NYC we were deciding between Famous Rays (Michael and I have been there a bunch and love it!) and Johns Pizzeria. Well at John's, which is a restored cathedral in Time's Square turned Pizzeria, we were in the restaurant and there was a fire! NYFD showed up and all! We've got pics. We were evacuated and after that we just headed to the closest place we could find being we were so hungry! Pics will be up this week!

I've really wanted to try these ever since I heard about them! My favorite "beach read" has been a book I got as a secret gift a few years back. It's "Blowing My Cover: My Life as a CIA Spy." Very easy read, easy to pick up if you put it down, and very interesting!

Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh wow...I just finished a TERRIFIC book!
Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall
It's her story of growing up inside the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ the Latter Day Saints. She tells of how she was forced into marriage at age 14 and all of the abuse she suffered and hos whe got out and stood up for every girl who was/is going through the same thing in the confines of the religion's compound. Her story goes all the way through the arrest and conviction of Warren Jeffs. WOW. I couldn't put it down!

I'm also having a fun contest so stop on by!

If you can find them 'The Far Pavillions' and 'Shadow Of The Moon' by MM Kaye. Wonderful, sweeping sagas, set in India around the time of the Indian Mutiny.

The 'Twilight' books are good as well ..
