Come Blow Your Horn!

We have some good news & some better news, folks! One of our earlier winners did not stop by to claim her prize, so we have Two Pop'rs Giveaway Winners today, selected by Random Drawing. Congrats to Tracy P. of The Journey and Allie over at The Pink Potpourri. And what do they win? Why, they each get to select Two Pop'rs Flavors of their Choice! Uncle Lynn wanted me to remind you that Pop'rs are only available online--they're not in stores yet! And, they come in eight delicious flavors: Buffalo, Butter, Chocolate, Colorbust, Cinnamon, Raspberry, Strawberry and Taco.

So, ladies, please e-mail me with your info and the Pop'rs flavors you'd like Uncle Lynn to send, and he'll Get. Right. On. It!

Today's photo is one College Girl snapped eons ago at one of our local Oktoberfest Celebrations. These fellows are blowing Alipine Horns, or Alpenhorns, as they're known in the Old Country. Think you'd need a LOT of hot air to get a sound out of those suckers!

And now, for our Poem of The Day.

October
O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst.
Slow, slow!
For the grapes' sake, if they were all,
Whose leaves already are burnt with frost,
Whose clustered fruit must else be lost--
For the grapes' sake along the wall.

How can you blow your own horn when it's so GIGENDOUS? I'm just wondering...

Gigendous? That's a new word for me. I love the picture too. How about a picture of the Poppers on food? I would like to see how it all works.

Love the Robert Frost poem. Those are some BIG horns those guys have. I would love to hear them play. The only time I have ever heard one is on TV.
